Your mission
Overview of the position:
– Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
– Starting date: 1 November 2024
– Duration: limited one-year contract (maternity cover)
– Location: Berlin, Germany
– Department & reporting line: Regional Peace Support MENA & Yemen, reporting to Head of Unit Yemen
Your main tasks:
– You are part of the project implementation, meaning: actively plan and participate in project-related activities and events
– You contribute to the development of concept notes and project applications
– You conduct background research and prepare materials (e.g. briefings, PPT, handbooks)
– You are responsible for event organisation and communication with participants in collaboration with Finance Managers and the Logistics Officer (including flight and hotel bookings, contracting of service providers, collecting and preparing use evidence and other administrative tasks related directly to project activities)
– You are co-responsible for donor reporting ensuring internal & external guidelines are met
– You are co-responsible for the communication towards project partners/stakeholders/participants
– You co-decide on project expenditures within project frameworks
– Travel to the MENA region
Your knowledge, experience & skills
– You hold a Master degree within relevant field such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, International Relations or similar
– You have first relevant working experience
– Furthermore, you could already gather experience in remote communication & cooperation with culturally diverse team and stakeholders
– Excellent verbal and written language skills in English and Arabic
– Professional skills in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams) complete your profile
