Being volunteer for a European youth exchange and cultural events

Description
The structure organizes cultural, agricultural and youth projects and would like to host a volunteer for a short term project of 2 months at Espinas in Ventalon-en_Cevennes, from 1st of July to 31st of August 2025. The volunteer will support the organization of cultural events and support the leaders’ team of the European youth exchange. The volunteer will support the organization of the youth exchange project which is called “Create your film on food self-sufficency”. We will work with the team of the German youth structure Blossin to welcome for 10 days (from 29.07 to 08.08) a youth exchange in nature. This project will be about ecological practices on food and energy and learning of collective living and organization. The association organizes also weekly familial events with a market of local producers and a cultural event (theater shows and music lives) in an attractive place, in the heart of the Cevennes National Park.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation will be provided with the volunteer as several roaming possibilities can be offered. The volunteer will occasionally have to travel for his activities with the association, and this will be paid for by the association. The structure is located in the mountains and at high altitude (910m), and far from all amenities. Transport will be expected and carpooling to be set up with the local community. The volunteer will have to plan accordingly to the climate (heat, heavy rains), the equipment adapted to the season. The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 184 euros.
Participant profile
The Epi de Mains association wishes to have a European volunteer in its team in order to bring additional skills, and a European openness, in particular to the local community that we receive in our structure. The offer of summer youth activities (European youth exchange) greatly arouses the interest and enthusiasm of the young people of our territory. European information and interest are more reliable if they are made by young people from other European countries who believe in the European Union and who have a strong motivation to take part in the programs that are offered. Candidates must speak fluent French. Skills in English and/or German will be most appreciated. Their motivation, their ability to bring enthusiasm during their mission, especially with young people and their understanding of pedagogy and animation will be important criteria. Taking initiatives and coming up with new ideas will be highly appreciated. It must be flexible, mobile and able to adapt to each specific situation and each type of audience. The organization is located in a isolated area so the volunteer must have a driver’s license and driving experience.
